Activities

Field Visit (16 March 1998)

NN90SW 61 from 9448 0566 to 9530 0510

A trackway, lying to the W of the modern road as it leaves Glen Eagles, skirts the E flank of Common Hill and continues southwards, along the Meadow Burn towards its confluence with the River Devon. Three quarries lie to the S of the trackway.

As the trackway passes the head of Upper Glen Devon, a branch continues round the foot of Common Hill and runs up the glen through two field-systems (NN90SW 55 and 56). Its course can be traced until NN 9400 0456 at which point it has been destroyed by the construction of the dam for Lower Glendevon reservoir.
