Farmstead situated to the N of Houton Head, the buildings of which are depicted as roofed on the current OS digital maps.
The farmstead is depicted as roofed on the 1st Edition of the OS 6-inch map (Orkney, 1882, sheet cxiii), which shows a building layout different to that of today. The Object Name Book of the Ordnance Survey (ONB) describes the farmstead as 'The name of a house and a fair sized farm and lies an eighth of a mile to the south of Fleck. The house is two storey high and slated in fair repair with office houses detached' (Name Book).
