Activities

Photographic Survey (21 June 2017)

Signal box along the Forth and Clyde Junction Railway that once ran between Stirling and Balloch. The proprietors originally promoted the line to connect coalfields in Fife/ Central Scotland for export through the Clyde and return finished cloth from the Vale of Leven for export through Fife. The line did not realise these ambitions and was principally utilised for farm produce (Thomas p171-4).

The former North British Railway signal box has been photographed ahead of proposed dismantling, restoration and conversion to new use. Due to the condition of the signal box the interior was not entered.
