Stromness, 1st Jan. The ALBION (ship), of and from Liverpool, for New York, with a general cargo and passengers, in taking Hoy sound to-day went on shore on the West end of the island of Graemsay, and will become a total wreck, and ther is no prospect of saving any of the cargo's crew and passengers landed on the island, with the exception of 10 persons who were brought here by a steamer which had been sent to their assistance, and 8 or 9 others capsized out of the ship's boat and drowned.

Stromness, --- Jan. The ALBION, from Liverpool to New York, which went ashore on the island of Graemsay yesterday, broke up last night. A few bales of goods and crates of crockery picked up on an island 4 miles from the wreck is [Record received incomplete].

Lerwick, 1st Feb. A large quantity of goods (cloths, crockery, &c.), has come ashore at Orphir, from the wreck of the ALBION, from Liverpool to New York, which was stranded on Graemsay Island.

Wick, 29th Mar. The ALBION has been stranded at the Orkneys. A good deal of steel and some iron and tin have been recovered from the wreck.

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. The place-name 'Orphir' apparently denotes an extensive but ill-defined area around HY 33 04, on the N shore of Scapa Flow.
