Kinnaird Parish church was recorded by the Threatened Buildings Survey on 3rd May 2022. The church was photographed just before the sale of the building by the Church of Scotland. The simple rectangular church with its birdcage bellcote on the west gable. was built in 1815. The church contains the Wright mural monument dated 1789 which suggests the site is much older. Records suggest a Pre-Reformation church stood on the site but no physical evidence of it has yet been found. This is also supported by the east-west orientation of the building. The church has undergone a series of modest alterations including the wooden window mullions inserted in 1893 but the original 1815 pulpit survives shorn of plinth and sounding board. The early 19th century detached Session House lies adjacent to the gateway to the churchyard and retains its original fireplace. Its location suggests that it may also have been used as a guard house or watch house to deter grave robbers.
