Architecture Notes

NS96NE 112 c. 9739 6904

Drawings HW 1930/6/1-5 could be for either 'Cinema Picturehouse', Livery Street (opened 1913) or 'Green's Pavilion', North Street (opened 1920). 'King Street' appears as an inscription on drawing HW 1930/6/1/1. However the similarity of the names 'Cinema Picturehouse' and 'Cinema House' and a distinctive turret roof featuring on both the drawings and on a photograph of the Cinema Picturehouse in William F Hendrie and Allister Mackie The Bathgate Book [2001] p.182 suggests that the Livery Street site is the most likely candidate.
