Activities

Field Visit (17 June 1981)

The disused slate quarry at Toberonochy was recorded by Dr G J Douglas of the Scottish Industrial Archaeology Survey with L Moir-Mackinnon on 17 June 1981. The archive material consists of an annotated photocopy of the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map with notes, a sketch plan of the engine house with dimensioned sketches of the air compressor and air receiver, a rubbing of the compressor’s makers mark ('Consolidated Pneumatics') and three black and white photographs.
