Field Visit (May 1970)
NM 763 064 Cairn, Shuna Point, Shuna, Nether Lorn.
Situated 350 m NE of the most southerly point of Shuna, and at a height of about 8 m OD, this cairn stands on the S end of a small isolated ridge of outcrop. Now overgrown by a light covering of peat and heather, it measures12'5 m by 9'5 m at the base and rises to a height of 4 m. On the top, and especially down the NE side where some disturbance has been caused by stone-robbing, it can be seen that the cairn material consists only of stones with no earth intermixed; some small areas of living rock are visible intermittently round the flanks.
RCAHMS 1975, visited May 1970.
