(Area NM 665 724) A hoard of over 150 Elizabethan coins was found at the end of the 19th century when making a path along the cliffs N of Dorlin House just opposite Castle Tioram. The find was made underneath a loose heap of stones at a point about halfway between the castle and a rock called Sgeir nighinn-Sheumas, which is only visible at low tide.

M E M Donaldson 1923.

No local information regarding the find spot; the name Sgeir nighinn-Sheumas is no longer known locally.
