Built c.1810 for James Wylie, Airleywight House is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Perthshire 1867, sheet lxxiii) and is described in the Object Name Book of the Ordnance Survey (ONB) as 'A handsome mansion situated on the rising ground to the west of the village of Bankfoot. Property and residence of Thomas Wylie Esq.' (ONB 1866).
