Archaeology Notes

NM64NW 4 c. 62 48.

Argyll County Council lists a very complete stone circle, 18' in diameter on Dun na Leiche or Physician's Cairn or Hillock, 1/4 mile W of Sallochan Burn (Amhainn Shalachain - NM 6200 4830).

Argyll County Council 1914.

Thorough perambulation in the area W of Amhainn Shalachain, which is partly afforested, and extensive local enquiries failed to locate this alleged stone circle, probably the peristalith of a cairn. The name 'Dun na Leiche' is not known locally.

Visited by OS (RL) 10 June 1970.
