Archaeology Notes

NM63NW 7 6381 3575

An earthen dam, not shown on OS 1st ed. map (1881), but published on 2nd ed. in 1897, has been ploughed and planted with forestry. It was built to create an estate recreational venue, still called 'the pony pond', though it is probable that no pond was ever formed.

R Douglass 1988; Information from NMRS (see Archive MS/534/1).
