Cast-iron footbridge over former railway line. Single basket-arched span supported by 4 piers with foliate capitals on either side. Cast-iron steps with timber treads ramped to ground level on both sides. Latticed balustrade/parapet throughout. Square-plan cast-iron newel posts with ball finials at junctions of landings and at ground level.

Complete cast-iron footbridge retaining decorative columns capitals and lattice parapet. (Historic Environment Scotland List Entry)

Identified from a makers mark as a design by George Smith & Co, based in Glasgow and operated the Sun Foundry (HES Cultural Assets)
