3-33 and 52-85 Montgomerie Street
two similar exceptional groups of cottages, some incorporating shops on the ground floor. Look for date stones and inscribed lintels at Nos 50, 51, 66 and 85; twin consoled doorpieces at Nos 21, 22 and 73; pilastered doorpieces at Nos 32 and 85; and Roman Doric pilastered doorpiece at No 64. The taller No 34 faced the mill.
