HY32NW 14 3017 2505.

(HY 3017 2505) Tumulus (NR)

OS 6" map, Orkney, 2nd ed.,(1900).

There is a patch of ground 36 ft in diameter, where many large stones set on edge at various angles show through the turf, on a slight elevation about 100 yds north of two rubbish heaps (HY32SW 20). Nothing is known of what may lie beneath.

RCAHMS 1946.

A low turf-covered mound, strewn with several large stones, one of which is set on edge, situated in a marshy area. It is roughly circular, measuring c.9.0m. in diameter and 0.6m. in height. Unable to classify but undoubtedly artificial.

Revised at 1/2500.

Visited by OS (NKB) 4 June 1967.

As described but several edge-slabs on perimeter.

Rabbit-scraped show black loamy soil; no burnt material.

Possibly a prehistoric house-site.
