Activities

Field Visit (May 1983)

Papadil NM 363 919 NM39SE

A sheep fank at the S tip of Loch Papadil appears to overlie the remains of an earlier structure represented by the stone footings of a curving wall at least 7.5m long and 0.8m thick. A possible rectangular building lies immediately to the W.

Field Visit (12 October 2010)

Rather than representing the remains of an earlier structure, the 'curving wall' described in 1983 appears to be the result of clearing of a pathway around the S edge of the sheep fank. To the W of the fank, at NM 36382 91933 there are traces of a possible building, reduced to a roughly rectangular platform edged with large stones.

Visited by RCAHMS (SDB, ARG) 12 October 2010.
