Activities

Field Visit (1 April 1998)

NN90NW 59 9458 0571

There is a large, disused, stone quarry on the WSW flank of The Seat, the hill to the E of the A823 on the watershed between Glen Eagles and Glen Devon. It is first shown on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Perthshire and Clackmannanshire 1901, sheet cxvii), and had fallen out of use by 1982, the date of the current edition of the 1:10,000 map (though there is probably some ongoing, small-scale, removal of quarry waste).
