Activities

Field Visit (16 March 1998)

NN90SW 51 centred 9475 0464

Three huts, a possible sheepfold or bucht and at least three small enclosures are disposed along a grass- and bracken-grown terrace overlooking the S bank of the River Devon. The huts measure from 4m to 6.5m in length by 2m to 2.6m in breadth within walls reduced to low stony banks. The bucht, which is butted onto one of the huts (GDEV98 2), measures 3.3m from NW to SE by 1.8m internally, and is open-ended on the SE. The enclosures are subrectangular or subsquare, the smallest measuring about 5m across internally; the others are incomplete, probably as a result of later ploughing of the terrace.
