Accessing Scotland's Past Project

Situated near the west end of Leitholm Main Street, Braehead Cottage was originally built as a single-storeyed double cottage in the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century. Another floor has now been added, and the building has been converted into one dwelling.

The cottage is built of a mixture of whinstone and sandstone rubble masonry with sandstone dressings, and later additions composed primarily of sandstone.
