Accessing Scotland's Past Project

The two-storeyed building at No 35 Main Street in Swinton forms the end of a terrace which overlooks The Green.

It dates to the late nineteenth century, and is built of coursed sandstone rubble masonry. It is roofed with slate, and features brick chimney-stacks. Plain coping has been used to give a neat finish to the gables. These coping stones terminate in elaborate skewputs.
