Accessing Scotland's Past Project

Built in the later part of the nineteenth century, Dub Cottage is named after the nearby part of the River Tweed, Birgham Dub. It is owned by the Hirsel estate, and was originally built as a fisherman's cottage.

It is a single-storeyed cottage, which retains a number of original features, including an iron-columned veranda and gabled porch.
