Accessing Scotland's Past Project

The mid-lodge, probably built in the late nineteenth century, stands about 500m south-west of Newton Don House.

This building is divided symmetrically into two cottages for estate workers, with each entrance porch flanked by a window on either side. The roof has deep eaves with painted barge-boards beneath them, giving the lodge a rustic appearance, which is very different to the simple, classical appearance of the main house and other estate buildings.
