NMRS, MS/829/69 (no. 3451).

(Classified as wooden dandy, with cargo of coal: date of loss cited as 12 December 1883). Walnut: this vessel stranded [at] Crinan harbour. Capt.Leitch.

Registration: Glasgow. Built 1860. 54grt. Length: 20m. Beam: 5m.

(Location of loss cited as N56 5.33 W5 34.0).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The location assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. It remains uncertain whether the vessel stranded within the ill-defined natural roadstead of Crinan Harbour [name centred NR 7808 9420] to the W of Crinan, or within the entrance basin (NR79SE 37) at the W end of the Crinan Canal (NR79SE 48.00); the former appears the more probable.
