(Area: NM 024 458) A stone circle, about 26 yds in diameter, with 'four large stones arranged as if forming the two sides of a cist, although of unusual size' in its centre, lies about 100 yds E of Loch a' Chapuil, in boggy ground.
E Beveridge 1903.
NM 0240 4565. A stony bank about 0.4m high encloses a slightly raised area measuring 26m from NW to SE by 20m transversely. Near the centre is an L-shaped wall 2.0m in length on each side. The enclosure is similar in construction to several old field walls in the area and is almost certainly associated with them while the L-shaped wall is probably the remains of a small shelter.
Visited by OS (R D) 23 June 1972.
Burl (H A W Burl 1976), following Beveridge (E Beveridge 1903), lists this as a stone circle 'of uncertain status'. However, it is not listed in the relevant RCAHMS (RCAHMS 1980) inventory, thus confirming the opinion of OS field surveyor that this feature is not an antiquity.
