303-325 High Street, 1-3 Preston Road, 1937, W M Scott

Strong Scots revival council houses marking the junction with Preston Road: two three-storey rubble blocks with dormer windows frame the corner by cut-away crowstepped cat-slide roofs which slope dramatically from a gabled four storeys to one storey at street level. A stone wall links the blocks at the corner. Plaque depicting the Black Bitch adorns the west corner. Some unfortunate window alterations.

Taken from "West Lothian: An Illustrated Architectural Guide", by Stuart Eydmann, Richard Jaques and Charles McKean, 2008. Published by the Rutland Press http://www.rias.org.uk
