Southwick Station has now been partially dismantled.

This intermediate station was situated on the part of the Kirkcudbright branch (from Dumfries) of the former Glasgow and South Western Rly which also formed part of the Gretna - Dumfries - Stranraer 'Port Road'. It was opened (by the Castle Douglas and Dumfries Rly) on 7 November 1859, and was temporarily closed (by the London, Midland and Scottish Rly) between 25 September 1939 and 3 February 1941. It was permanently closed to regular passenger traffic (with the line as a whole) on 3 May 1965.
