(NL 9580 4505) Stones (NAT)

OS 1:10,000 map, (1977)

This stone circle, situated on gently sloping ground 1.1 km SE of Hough House, probably measured about 40 m in diameter. It now consists of eleven fallen stones together with the stump of another, but originally there were probably additional stones in the gaps. A turf bank and the remains of a turf-walled building flank the circle on the N.

RCAHMS 1980, visited 1975; E Beveridge 1903.

Surveyed at 1:2500.

Information from OS (J R) 27 March 1974.
