Watching Brief (17 March 2011 - 18 March 2011)
NX 674 493 A watching brief was undertaken 17–18 March 2011 during the excavation of foundation trenches for a new extension. The area was considered sensitive due to its proximity to the 12th-century St Mary’s Priory. However, no archaeological finds or features were recorded in the area, which had been heavily disturbed by service pipes and the foundations of a Late Victorian mansion.
