Parish Church, East Calder Road, 1750
Improvement kirk to serve East Calder and Kirknewton. Gothicised, 1872, by Brown & Wardrop, with Gothic south façade and adjacent saddle-back tower in fine ashlar with stringcourses. Delightful 1750 manse, (despite being stripped of its harl) elegant two-storey T-plan, central projecting gabled wing, with quoined door, windows and corners. Highfield, c.1840, opposite, is a handsome, much-chimneyed, Tudorish villa with bay windows and inset porch.
