(NK 1238 4613) Grave (NAT)

(The feature is a rectangular pecked outline aligned east-to-west with long axis parallel with the road frontage;size approx. 4 metres by 1 metre.)

OS 1/500 plan, Peterhead, (1869).

This place is traditionally the site of a duel in which one combatant was killed and buried on the spot. The grave remains untouched to this day though in a much ploughed and trenched field.
