Activities

Publication Account (1998)

Another interesting architectural feature is the Watch Tower figure 20.F in the burial ground on Old Edinburgh Road. Built in the early decades of the nineteenth century by the Committee of Dalkeith Churchyard Association, its purpose was to house overnight armed watchmen, who guarded the graveyard from body snatchers.
