Orkney Smr Note

This stone was found in a field dyke at Brodgar. It is a block of Old Red Sandstone, about 16.5in by 5.5in by 4.75in and is remarkable as having incised on one an inscription in twig-runes. Prof A.W. Broegger wrote There is no doubt that we have got the well-known Kvistruner (twig-runes) here in this inscription. [R2]
