(Classified as wooden lugger, in ballast: registration number cited as BF 574, and date of loss as 11 June 1881). Kitty Lass: this vessel foundered at the entrance to Black Pots Haven, 2 miles W of Banff. Capt. Lovie.

Registration: Whitehills. Built 1875. 10 tons register. Length: 9m.

(Location of loss cited as N57 40.83 W2 34.25).

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. Blackpots or Blackpotts harbour is not noted as such on the 1994 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map, but the name apparently applies to the harbour which is located at NJ 659 658 and opens onto Banff Bay.
