NT67NE 7.00 6779 7884 Friarscroft Priory and Doocot

This is a seven-sided building of coursed red-sansdstone rubble recently re-chipped and pointed. It has a conical pantiled roof. Its N side is attached to the side-wall of a barn, and the free sides measure (counter-clockwise) 14 feet 4 inches, 12 feet 8 inches, 11 feet 5 inches, 9 feet 5 inches, 13 feet 9 inches and 9 feet 10 inches. A doorway 7 feet 2 inches wide has been broken into the third side mentioned above, and there are no other features. The height to the wall head at the door is 6 feet 9 inches. The interior of both the mill building and the barn were inaccessible, but is is understood that no machinery remains. Visited 8 August 1965.
