Activities

Field Visit (14 May 2015)

The surviving timber piers at the southern terminus of the Finnieston Ferry are in a ruinous state: one retains its full height, a second has partially collapsed and a third comprises only stumps. On the shoreline adjacent are the remains of the steam-driven, elevating deck system that enabled access to the double-deck ferry at any state of the tide level. The ferry was withdrawn in 1977.

Visited by RCAHMS (AGCH) 14 May 2015.
