Cramond Primary School was used during World War II as an Air Raid Precautions post. The siren was situated above the former entrance porch on the SE side of the building.

Watching Brief (September 2002 - October 2002)
(NT 188 765) A watching brief was maintained in September and October 2002 during groundworks associated with the construction of a nursery on the site of the former Cramond Infant School. The watching brief was triggered by the possibility of the Roman road passing through the site, the projected line of which runs S from the fort at Cramond. A cobbled surface and a brick and slab drain were uncovered, both thought to date to the 18th or 19th centuries. No trace of the Roman road was found, probably due to the natural topography of the site, which slopes steeply down towards the River Almond.
