'Old English' style house by architect, William Leiper, 1898-9 with later early C20th and the verandah added 1920 by local architect John Rutherford Johnstone.
Some later C20th alterations and additions as part of its conversion to use as a hotel. The interior has some fine original detailing and wooden panelling, particularly in the public rooms and stairwell.
