Activities

Publication Account (2006)

The end of the nineteenth century saw the erection, in 1897, of the Burns Memorial Tower (NS 493 28o) to the north of the town (fig 28). Designed by William Fraser in a bold baronial manner, it contrasts with the generally subdued vernacular architecture of the town centre.

Information from ‘The Scottish Burgh Survey, Historic Mauchline: Archaeology and Development’ (2006).
