NMRS REFERENCE

Built in 1859 for Allan Gilmour, Timber Importer and shipowner.

The House cost #70,000 to build.

Fire in the 1950's led to disuse and later demolition.

Notes from text - Old Castle of Polnoon ruins a mile to SE. After the Castle fell into ruins Polnoon Lodge was erected.
