Publication Account (1995)

A building on the site of the former parish school in the Square was acquired by the Ayrshire Banking Company in 1834 and subsequently by the Western Bank of Scotland in 1845. Twelve years later it became the premises of the Clydesdale Bank. A substantial building of two storeys, with attics, it has an arched doorway and pedimented masonry dormers.
