Watching Brief (22 May 2018 - 26 June 2018)
NS 55980 57930 A watching brief was carried out, 22 May – 26 June 2018, during the construction of a link corridor between the bothy building to the main house. This work, which required Listed Building Consent, consisted of monitoring the creation of new door openings and ground disturbance associated with the footprint of the corridor. A possible pivot stone was recovered from the construction deposit below the current floor level and an area of stone paving of unknown date was encountered; this paving was recorded and preserved in situ.
