NJ91NW 4 c. 940 176

'There is a gold mine, very rich, in a husband toun, called Overhill, in the parish of Belhelvie ... three fathoms, beneath the kyln, that is at the head of the In-town'. This mine is recorded in the reign of James V and again in 1683.

R W Cochran-Patrick 1878.

No trace of this gold mine was found on the date of visit.
