Archaeology Notes

ND26NW 36.08 21144 67130

A possible type 27 pillbox has been identified from post-war RAF vertical air photographs (CPE/Scot/UK/264, 3036-7, flown 14 August 1947) immediately inside the fence between the public road and the northern perimeter area of the airfield. The northern wall of the brick and concrete pillbox still survives with at least two loopholes.

Visited by RCAHMS (DE), August 1999
