Archaeological Evaluation (11 March 2024 - 22 March 2024)
NS 80202 53683 An archaeological evaluation was carried out at the site of the former Pather Farm, Wishaw. The evaluation identified a sandstone wall foundation from a late 18th to early 19th century farm building that was located off of Dimdsale Road. Further, the evaluation showed that the later mid 19th century buildings at Pather Farm had been comprehensively demolished, and landscaped.
Within the rest of the evaluation area, to the north and south of Pather Farm, a series of 19th to 20th century ceramic field drains were noted cut into the local clay subsoils. Made ground deposits and modern refuse or demolition debris that originated from the demolition of Pather Farm were also noted in some of the trenches that lay close to the farm area.
