(Location cited as NJ c. 938 060). Wyness shows the Lang Stane (which he suggests was part of a stone circle) on a sketch plan of Aberdeen, on the north side of Windmill Brae. His photograph shows it 'on its original site before being built into the niche at the rear of Messrs. Watt and Grant's building'. It is marked on Paterson's plan of Aberdeen (1746).

This granite boulder is set into an alcove at the SE corner of 10 Langstane Place. It measures 1.8m in height by 0.68m in breadth and at least 0.3m in thickness; on the front face of the stone is the incised legend 'LANGSTANE'
