23 November 1898 THETIS, 51 years, of Norway, wood brig. 185 ton, 5 only on board. Mate in charge. O. Christiansen, owner Danielsen, Risoer, Norway. Had been lying in Methil Roads. Coal. Wind SE10. About 1 mile SW of Methil Docks, Fife. Casualties involving total loss of vessel during year end 30 June 1899.

NMRS, MS/829/67 (no. 734).

(Classified as wooden brig, with cargo of coal: date of loss cited as 23 November 1898). Thetis: this vessel stranded approximately 1 mile SW of Methil docks. All gone and broken up.

Registration: Porsgrund. Built 1847. 196grt. Length: 25m. Beam: 8m.

(Location of loss cited as N56 10.25 W3 1.00).
