New Pitsligo, St. John's Episcopal Church.

Architect: G.E. Street.

Activities

Design

Designed by G E Street, one of the few buildings he designed in Scotland. Street had been commissioned in 1867 to design the large library and chapel at Dunecht House for the Earl of Crawford and Balcarres and thus had an Aberdeenshire connection by the time he designed both St John's Episcopal, New Pitsligo and St Mary on the Rocks, Ellon, both c.1870-1. St John's, like the additions at Dunecht has a quality of late medieval northern Italian buildings.
