NJ83SE 23 c. 89 31

A battle was fought at sometime between the lands of Esslemont and Lord Aberdeen's land at Cat's or Catties Cairn. (NJ83SE 22).

C S Temple 1863.

Cat Craigs (NJ 89 31) is a ridged like piece of cultivated ground where, according to tradition, the Laird Seaton of Shethin successfully defended himself against the attacks of an enemy occupying a position on the Hill of Ythsie (NJ83SE 24).

Name Book 1868.
