Old Parish Church (St Deavanach/Devenick), 1780, repaired 1840. In old kirkyard, roofless rectangle in split-boulder
rubble with cherry-cocking. Simple round-headed openings throughout, bellcote on west gable, stair to former loft at south-east corner, north wall blind. South section of old kirkyard wall incorporates a good collection of 18th-century tomb sculpture.

For present parish church (NJ 8577 3723), see NJ83NE 71.
Built 1780, repaired (probably internally only) in 1840, and abandoned in 1866 when the present church was built (at NJ 8577 3722).
OSA 1791-9; NSA 1845; A Keith 1899.
The church is roofless, but the walls are intact and in good repair. It contains several post-1866 gravestones. An interesting feature is the outside stair at the E end of the S wall which gave access to the gallery.
Visited by OS 19 August 1976.
