This monolith stands on a small, flat, oblong space, which is partly natural and partly an artificial break in the northern slope of the hill. Around the base of the stone are many smallish stones some of them to all appearance firmly set. The stone is red granite. Its base is nearly square and measures 7ft in girth. It is 6ft 10" in height.

The standing stone at NJ 8715 1828 is 1.8m high, and 1.9m in girth at its foot. Stones from field clearance have been dumped at its base.
Resurveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (NKB) 20 March 1964.
This standing stone is situated in arable ground on the crest of a knoll at an altitude of 95m OD. The ground falls away on all sides around.

This granite standing stone is situated on a steep NE-facing slope in a cultivated field 360m NW of Monykebbuck farmsteading (NJ81NE 28). It measures 0.55m square in section and 1.75m in height. The stone stands on a possible grass-grown cairn measuring about 4.5m in diameter and 0.5m in height; recent field-clearance has been dumped immediately SW of the stone.
